Jon Osborne is a nationally recognized artist whose award-winning figurative works hang in galleries and private collections from Florida to Washington state. Jon created this work especially for Steel City Men’s Chorus in support of our upcoming show, “Heroes and Villains,” and to contribute to the chorus’ ongoing fundraising efforts.
Titled “Heroes in a Villain’s Story,” this painting is rife with symbolism and is inspired directly by music from the show, particularly “Holding Out for a Hero” and “My Pride.” Look closely and you will see competing colors of nation and pride, people and ideas in conflict, the calming power of music and love, and so much more playing out on the world’s stage.
Jon estimates “Heroes in a Villain’s Story” would sell for $3,500 in a gallery setting.
Winning bids will include 10% in applicable sales tax. For example, a bid of $300 will result in a fund raising value of $273 to the chorus and $27 in sales tax. Bidding starts at $300 and you can bid in increments of $50. Bidding closes Saturday, May 02 at 11:45 pm. Auction subject to achieving a reserve price.
