We sing
Steel City Men's Chorus is Alabama's oldest and only sustained gay men's chorus. We're known for producing amazing, fun entertainment and for courageous affirmations of the LGBTQ+ community living and thriving in the deep south. When we take the stage or engage in community service, we speak volumes just by our presence, being out and visible for all to see. But we go further.
We sing about LGBTQ+ issues in entertaining and sometimes emotionally charged ways that change lives. We've taken on suicide, self-image, relationships, societal pressures and more through the real-world stories of our singers' lives and powerful music from artists like Radiohead, Pink, Sting, Beyoncé, Billy Eilish, and Dolly Parton. We've even commissioned new works that bring the queer experience into focus in fresh and important ways.
Our goal–always–is to build community, educate, and give voice to LGBTQ+ issues through music and service–all to increase acceptance and improve lives for Alabama's LGBTQ+ people.
Now in our 13th season, we're committed more than ever to being fearless champions of equality through the performing arts. But as a not-for-profit organization, we only succeed with your help. Please consider becoming a season subscriber to our three main stage shows now, and if you can, your one-time or recurring contributions will help us carry our message to more people and places than ever before.
so an entire
community can be heard.
